Chicago has made a big boom in the music world with its introduction of “Drill Music” almost 10 years ago. The Drill sound took over the Midwest, then The United States and the rest of the world since Chief Keef came onto the scene and started this trend followed by GHerbo, Lil Durk and more. Drill became prominent when the murder rate in Chicago reached record high numbers. With bass heavy instrumentals accompanied by stories told by street soldiers, the city took the spotlight and has kept its name alive in the music industry.

The city has now produced an R&B crooner named M.T.G., who with recent success is showing that he might be around for a long time. At the height of quarantine, the now singer, pitched a song to another famous R&B singer that we know from Louisville. When he never heard back about the record, he decided to release the song with him singing publicly for the first time. “Only Fans” would go on to peak at Top 2 on the charts on its release date and would get international radio play on BBC radio and other platforms around the world. He briefly posted a snippet of the music video to “OF”. We look forward to the new music soon.
